Good-god! I really shouldn't have done all the little details in one sitting! Shading and highlighting such dark skin can be a pain! I did have fun with the background and smattering of blood though!

Anyway, got bored and decided to color 's lineart of my Drow, Hadassa "Harriet" Valtress.

Ex-Priestess of Arakara and current leader of the Northern Star Partisan Insurgency in Boston

A little about her and a short back story:

Harriet, as she goes by now, lead a very good life as one of the high nobles of her city. She was a promising priestess and was incredibly talented in just about every aspect expected of a female, especially... well, I'm sure your minds can fill in the blanks... (Let's just say she was undisputed top of her class when it came to these arts...)

She had it pretty good, until her little brother was born. (One Alysdir, who I'm sure a few of you know...) From there, she felt as if her life went to hell. She would often beat her brother when he didn't do what she asked! But, in all fairness, she did, kinda like him. Mostly because he had dignity.

Anyway, he escaped! And Hadassa got sent after him, to bring him back and torment him for an eternity. Things didn't go as planned though, and she made the choice to run, rather than return. This involved helping her brother, and members of a resistance group, against The Breed Empire. It lead them into a death trap at an old, abandoned US missile base, and almost got killed!

Anyway, not long after, she resumed wandering what was left of the US, and it wasn't long before she got involved with the resistance again, when one of her sisters, was sent to bring her and Alysdir back! They originally planned on fooling her sister by cutting her hair, but it didn't work, and she ended up killing her.

A few days later, she changed her name to Harriet, because she'd grown a conscious, and didn't want to remember what she'd done in the past. She kept her hair short, and became celibate, vowing she'd break it when she found someone who she wouldn't have to scare into respecting her.

Currently, she is in Boston, and one of the leaders of the resistance there. She and her brother have reconciled, even though they still have the occasional argument, like a normal, surface brother and sister.

Personality:

Pre-surface Hadassa was a nymphomaniac priestess, who'd strangle you with her braids, soon as look at you, or sleep with you! She didn't take any shit from anyone! Then again, after murdering your eldest sister, you'd probably be expected to do this sort of thing!

After wandering the surface for months, mostly because she had no idea where she was going, she changed a lot. She saw the devastation war had brought, and even saw the remenants of the continent's previous power struggling to survive not only the elements and each other, but The Breed Empire!

She's become a very friendly individual, always willing to listen to people's problems, and help out. However, she is still capable of being a real hardass when she has to! Hell, she's leader of a resistance group! I'd hope she'd ride (not literally, of course) the troops to do what was needed to survive!

She does have a soft side, but you have to know her well enough to see it...

Fighting Style, Weapons, Magic and Equipment:

Pre-surface, she relished in torture, but she doesn't anymore. She knows full well, that if given the opportunity, a Breed will kill! So, she doesn't take chances anymore. She shoots to kill.

And she does so with a heavily modified Colt M4A1 carbine! She also carries a silenced Steyr TMP, Colt Double Eagle, and about five knives!

For armor, she used-to have a Drow-crafted suit of lightweight bullet-resistant ceramic, but she lost it when she was captured. The only pieces of them that she still has, are her boots and shin guards. The rest of her armor is comprised of a kevlar jacket and tactical vest with trauma plates, and a few scraps of ceramic here and there.

Like any good Drow stuck on the surface though, she has a pair of 'Day-Vision goggles' to prevent her from going blind. She's not too fond of them, but she likes being able to see! They have been modified to also show a sort of 'echolocation' if she wants them to. The device over the right part of them is a rangefinder.

When it comes to magic though, she's pretty much given it up entirely. She was never big on it to begin with!
